The map of Margate is about 1905 click on it to enlarge it comes from the book I publish “John Heywoods Illustrated Guide To Margate” see http://www.michaelsbookshop.com/catalogue/john_heywoods_illustrated_guide_to_margate.htm
I have just moved the blog Margate Architecture http://margatearchitecture.blogspot.com/ up with the top group on this site i.e. those that post often or attract a lot of comment.
I have also moved Thanet Coast Life up.
As I have said before I am always surprised how few people use this website, so to the few of you that do please let me know if you want any changes.

Peter since I managed to change the way the java worked slightly so that it runs a lot faster I haven’t bothered to remove anyone and as the site collects the information from my bookshop website and loads from the top to the bottom removing defunct sites wouldn’t make the page load any faster either.
Believe me it’s a lot of hassle to add sites to this blog and like you I use this as my main way of reading the local blogs so would miss the occasional posts.
And of course would miss the comments on their old postings altogether.
As far as Thanet Road goes, next time you have an hour or so spare come and look through my street directories, I have most of the ones published after 1900.
What a lovely map shows Harold Rd. as being in Margate New Town I will have some fun with this
