New blog on the street

I have just added http://thandotnet.blogspot.com/ so we can keep an eye on the comments there.

Once again looking at the comments that appear here I wonder why people comment on very old posts when it’s unlikely that anyone will ever find them.

Although this is my least viewed blog in terms of the number of people viewing it I noticed that those who do use this blog stay on it for much longer than the others so perhaps I am doing something right after all.

A post from my least visited blog

Having just used this blog to pick up the recent posts and comments on other local blogs as I often do, I wondered why people comment on very old posts on the various local blogs as it seems unlikely that anyone apart from the blog administrator will ever read there comments.

The only way I ever pick these comments up is by looking here and as only about 10 people a day use this blog I can’t see many other people would read these belated comments.

Planes Over Herne Bay

Having just done my monthly post about the popularity of the local blogs I noticed that I have been getting quite a few referrals from Planes Over Herne Bay so I have added it although it is not a strictly Thanet blog.

I have to admit with spending much of my spare time on Pleasurama I haven’t been keeping as much of an eye on the Airport issue as perhaps I should have done.

Anyway I am off to sign the petition against night flights between 11pm and 7am something I certainly don’t want.

I have managed to tweak this site a bit so it loads much quicker then it did and it seems to be picking up posts on the other local blogs much quicker that the blogger widget, so there is no problem having a few extra blogs now.

Thanet Press Releases

I have just added my new blog Thanet Press Releases see http://thanetpress.blogspot.com/ it is exclusively for local council press and document releases and mainstream political releases.

Much more in much less space.

As very few people use this blog I have modified pretty much for my own convenience as much to save my time as anything else, I know that it’s a bit dense but there you go.

Has Ramsgate News blog been bloggerd

I have just done a bit of an update adjusting the number of comments on each blog featured here so that it relates to the number of comments that the site actually gets.

The idea of this is to make it load fairly quickly, the post feeds that are on the blogger post pages but none of the non blogger hosted blogs have are different to the feeds the produce the latest comment.

With the comments that come up on this blog from the other blogs if you deleted the comment the comment vanishes from this site, however with Ramsgate News and his post MILES DAVIS, KIND OF BLUE IN THANET? It is staying up as the last post here but has vanished from his blog which I would expect.

However the comment I would expect to go and it hasn’t, it is as though it is there but not there, so I wonder does anyone know if he has been bloggerd.

Blog updated

I have added Ramsgate News as it looks to be an interesting new blog and also Thanet Observer as it seems to be fairly lively at the moment. Once again if I am missing any of the Thanet blogs that are attracting a fair amount of comment please let me know. The problem here is that if I add too many blogs this one takes too long to load. I have knocked back the amount of comments visible for some of the less commented on blogs to make a bit more room and increased the amount of comments visible on ECR as he gets so many.

Councillor’s blog comes out of suspended animation.

Dave Green has rejoined the land of the blogging and I have added him back onto this site, it is certainly good to be adding someone on rather than taking them off for a change.

Timewarp on ECRs blog

Having just used this blog to catch up on the recent comment on the others I notice that there were two comments today on a post that ECR put up in Tuesday, May 23, 2006 called "Titan Uranus" what did occur to me though was that unless they use this blog how would anyone ever find their comment?

2 more bite the dust

I have knocked off Dave Green’s Eastcliff Matters and The Isle of Thanet Express as they are no longer active, I left them on for longer than usual as I thought the blog authors may have asked not to post.

Return of ECR

Eastcliff Richard has returned to Ramsgate and the world of blogging so I have put him back on this site, so we can keep an eye on his comments.

On and off the Thanet blog

I have just been through and deleted the Thanet blogs that have been inactive for over a week and added those that have become active. I have no option here as the page is so complicated that if I have too many sites it would take ages to load.

Please let me know if I have missed any Thanet blogs attracting a lot of comment at the moment, I can only add those hosted by blogger at the moment, due to my eliteracy.

As this a blog of blogs and I have just sat down and worked my way through the recent Thanet natter, thank you all very much for the entertainment and achievements.

All recent Thanet blog comment on one page?

I have added hopefully all Thanet blogs that get a fair amount of comment, I can’t add Thanet Star ad it isn’t hosted on blogger and I can’t make JavaScript work for its feeds for some reason I don’t understand. Please let me now if you think I have missed any.

With all the aviation comment at the moment I thought the picture that illustrates what happens when air safety is subservient to political expediency was apposite, It should get big enough to read if you click on it.

Nearly all Thanet latest posts and comment on one page

I have put everyone in alphabetical order and added SMEG today. The trouble is that this is a very cranky site and bits of it are inclined to stop working for no apparent reason. Sometimes deleting your temporary internet files helps if it wont load properly.

2 more blogs added one with great difficulty

I have added Naked in Thanet and Promote Thanet today and hope to get a few more done soon.

This site is a bit technically cranky so the ones that work the easiest get done the first.

More Local Comment

I have added from one end of Kent to this site as it is getting a lot of comment and will try and add a few more next week, I can’t add non blogger hosted sites at the moment and if anyone knows of some JavaScript that would work for their feeds pleas let me know.

Up and running?

I finally seem to have got this site working properly again although I don’t expect it to last, anyone think there are any other local blogs I should add?
